Her songs have appeared on more than 160 million records. Kara’s performed as a judge for two seasons on American Idol and taught as a Herb Albert Visiting Scholar at Berklee College of Music for the past 8 years.

Kelly Sayer is an A&R manager at Atlantic Records. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, she first arrived in the USA in 2013 to study Music Production and Engineering at Berklee College of Music. After graduating and relocating to LA, she began her career working as Alex da Kid's head engineer at KIDinaKORNER studios.

Samantha Cox

As Vice President, Creative, New York, Samantha Cox is responsible for overseeing the Pop, Rock and Indie team based in BMI’s New York office. She is also responsible for scouting and signing new songwriters and publishers, and maintaining relationships with existing BMI affiliates worldwide, as well as coordinating various songwriter nights, showcases and seminars.  Samantha plays an important role in the lives of songwriters, helping them build their careers through a number of outlets, including assembling their team, setting up collaborations and educating songwriters on the mechanics of the music industry.

Mississippi native Ben Johnson is a Grammy- Nominated songwriter, producer, and artist living in Nashville, TN. He is signed to a worldwide co- publishing deal with Tape Room Music (Nashville) and Artist Publishing Group (Los Angeles). Johnson's first cut was Charlie Puth's "Patient" which launched his career that now includes cuts with notable artists like Jake Owen, Lee Brice, Dierks Bentley, John Legend, Ava Max, Thomas Rhett, Kane Brown, Justin Timberlake, HARDY, Lauren Alaina, Parmalee, Weezer, and more. As EVP and General Counsel of the National Music Publishers’ Association, Ms. Aguirre oversees all of NMPA’s legal, business and policy objectives.  Her role is to protect and enforce the copyrights and intellectual property interests of songwriters and music publishers.  Ms. Aguirre has aggressively fought digital piracy and infringement litigating against digital platforms, and she works with the largest companies, digital services and record labels to ensure that publishers and songwriters are being fairly compensated for the use of their songs.   


Ms. Aguirre was integrally involved in the negotiation, drafting and passage of the Music Modernization Act, legislation that amended U.S. Copyright law and led to the creation of a new licensing company, the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC).  After co-leading a team that developed the MLC, she currently serves as the statutorily designated non-voting publisher representative on the MLC board.  In 2018, Billboard honored her as the Women in Music Co-Executive of the Year for her work on the MMA and MLC.   


Prior to joining NMPA, Ms. Aguirre was an attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison LLP. She received her JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and her BA from Georgetown University.

Marissa Smith is a Music Agent at UTA based in Nashville. Smith works with clients such as GAYLE, JP Saxe, JVKE, Emlyn, John Harvie, and more. She began her career at WME, where outside of her work in North America touring, she helped build and lead their first Virtual Appearance Department, booking hundreds of virtual concerts for artists such as Kehlani, Charlie Puth, Culture Club, Lindsey Stirling, Sabrina Claudio, and more. Smith also served as their first-ever Social Action Music Agent, booking the department’s non-profit, political, and social action related events. Smith holds board positions with several non-profit organizations including She Is The Music, Noise for Now, Children in Conflict, and more.

Anthony D’Annunzio is a partner and GM of Producer/Songwriter Management at Electric Feel Entertainment, based out of Los Angeles. As one of the longest running Electric Feel team members, Anthony has been with the company for a majority of the last decade. Haley Evans is a manager and A&R at Mega House Music, (Songwriter/Producer Management / Publishing) based out of Los Angeles, CA. Mega House’s roster includes multi-platinum songwriters and producers such as The Monsters & Strangerz, Ammar Malik, Casey Smith, Gian Stone, 94Skrt, Peter Fenn, Robopop, Daylight, Ella Boh, Davin Kingston, and others. Haley is currently aiding in the expansion of Mega’s publishing and management rosters. 

Nicolle Galyon is an award winning, multi-Platinum singer, songwriter and producer from Sterling,Kansas and one of Nashville’s most successful and respected voices.
